Sisterhood

In the weeks prior to initiation, big and little sister reveal is a much-anticipated celebration. Initiation week is an annual highlight as the sisterhood welcomes new Kappas into the fold. Live social networking events, secret sister gift exchange, and the blue and blue dinner are wonderful events that bring Kappas together.

Other sisterhood events throughout the year include opportunities to build positive relationships. For example, each Monday before our weekly meeting everyone participates in a standards activity focusing on personal growth, professional development, or philanthropic service. Throughout the year we enjoy sisterhood activities to build friendships and mentor relationships. These engaging opportunities may include painting canvases, team building through the sister-olympics, or fundraising efforts in support of our philanthropy project "Reading Is Fundamental" (RIF).

We are dedicated to raising funds for RIF through events like Kappa Kappasta, Kappa Kappucino, and Kappa Grabba Donut, all fun initiatives that allow Kappas to engage with the community and raise funds and awareness for RIF. The money raised helps support children's literacy through the purchase of books and literary resources for community schools and libraries. In this way, the members of Omicron Deuteron are actively involved in serving young people and supporting literacy initiatives in our host community and nation.
